Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 16 October 2026
TemplateTrends has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how we prevent CSAE on our service, and how anyone can report a concern to us.
It is published in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and reflects the principles of the Voluntary Principles to Counter Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
1. What our service is, and where the risk sits
TemplateTrends is a discovery index for publicly available CapCut video templates. Understanding how it works is what makes these standards meaningful:
- We host no user uploads. There is no way for a user to upload a photo, a video, or a file to TemplateTrends. There are no user profiles with public content, no comments, no direct messages, and no chat.
- We do not create the templates. They are produced by third-party creators and hosted on CapCut's platform. We index what is publicly listed there, show a preview, and link out.
- The content a user sees is therefore limited to template previews drawn from that index, and text they type into the search box.
The realistic risks are that a third-party template contains abusive or exploitative material, or that someone uses our search box to look for it. Both are addressed below.
2. Prohibited content and conduct
The following are absolutely prohibited on TemplateTrends. There are no exceptions and no warnings:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form, including drawn, animated or computer-generated depictions
- Any sexualisation of a minor, including suggestive framing, posing or commentary
- Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to make contact with a minor for sexual purposes
- Trafficking of minors, or advertising, trading or soliciting any of the above
- Using our search to seek out, signal or distribute any of the above
Anyone engaging in this conduct loses access permanently.
3. How we prevent it
No upload surface. The most effective control is structural: there is nothing to upload to, so our service cannot be used to store or distribute abusive material.
Index screening. Templates enter our index from CapCut's public listings, which are subject to CapCut's own moderation. On top of that we maintain a block list: any template can be blocked immediately, which removes it from search, from trending and from every surface in the app and on the website.
Search term controls. Queries associated with CSAE are blocked and return no results. Blocked terms are not cached and do not enter our trending data.
Human review. Reports reach a named person, not an unmonitored inbox. Our admin tools allow a template to be blocked and an account to be banned within minutes of a report being verified.
Account controls. Accounts used to seek out prohibited material are banned, and the ban applies to the account and the associated device.
4. How to report
Anyone can report a child safety concern to us, without an account:
- Email support@templatetrends.cloud with "CHILD SAFETY" in the subject line. Include a link to the template or a description of what you saw, so we can find it.
- Reports are read by a person who can act on them, and are prioritised above all other correspondence.
We acknowledge reports promptly, and we act on verified CSAE reports immediately rather than waiting for the acknowledgement to be sent.
Do not send suspected CSAM to us. It is unlawful to possess or transmit, including to a reporting address. Send a link or a description instead.
5. How we respond
On a credible report of CSAE, we:
- Remove access immediately — the template is blocked across the app and the website before any further investigation.
- Preserve the evidence required to support a report to the authorities, without redistributing it.
- Terminate the accounts involved, permanently.
- Report to the relevant authority. Reports concerning apparent CSAM are made to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, and to the national or regional authority where the law requires it.
- Notify the host. Where the material sits on a third-party platform such as CapCut, we report it to that platform so it is removed at the source and not merely delisted from our index.
We comply with all applicable child safety laws, including reporting obligations in the jurisdictions where we operate, and we respond to lawful requests from law enforcement.
6. Point of contact
The designated point of contact for child safety matters, and for questions about our CSAM prevention practices and compliance, is reachable at:
support@templatetrends.cloud
This address is monitored, and the person behind it is able to discuss our practices with Google, with platforms and with authorities.
7. Resources
If you are worried about a child's immediate safety, contact your local emergency services first.
- NCMEC CyberTipline — report.cybertip.org
- Internet Watch Foundation — iwf.org.uk
- INHOPE, for national hotlines worldwide — inhope.org
8. Review
These standards are reviewed at least annually, and whenever our product changes in a way that affects child safety — in particular, before we ever introduce user-generated content, messaging, or any other feature that creates a new contact or upload surface.
